This past weekend I hosted holiday mini sessions for clients to have family photos taken in Summerfield, North Carolina. These sessions took place at Doggettville Farm in Summerfield, NC.
Over the course of two days, I was able to photograph 10 families! These mini sessions were designed to provide families in Greensboro and surrounding areas an opportunity to have family photos taken. With the holidays right around the corner, there is no better time to have family photos taken.
We planned these for the first weekend in November to give people enough time to order their Christmas and holiday cards before the mad rush!
If you have not had family photos taken recently, then now is the time! Before I had my son, I never understood why people had pictures taken so often once they had kids…now I know. We all change, especially kids, so much over the course of a year, and it is always nice to look back on photos you have had taken together as a family each year and see how you have grown.
If you are intimidated by having professional photos taken, there is no need to worry. My goal is to make you and your family feel 100% comfortable during your family photos. Hiring a professional photographer takes the weight off your shoulders so you don’t have to set up your self-timer on your phone or camera and hope for the best! We all know we’ve done that method before and it’s not an easy task! Trust someone who is a professional to handle this for you.
After booking your family photos with a local photographer in Greensboro, you’ll want to plan for what everyone is going to wear. Luckily, I have put together some ideas and tips to think about when planning for family photo outfits. Here are some tips and ideas for outfits to wear in your holiday family photos.
More than likely, when you get together for family photos, there are small children involved. With that said, we all know children can be very unpredictable. After having worked with dozens upon dozens of families, I have found some guaranteed ways to avoid a meltdown and hold the attention of children long enough to get some fantastic family photos!
When hiring a family photographer in Greensboro, the timing of your photos is crucial. I like to use this resource to keep track of the sunrise and sunset times. It is my preference to take photos during “golden hour”. This is the most opportune time to get a beautiful glow in your photos.
Golden hour is the time of day when the sun is just rising or setting. It’s usually ideal to take photos within 30 minutes of the sun rising or setting. The time will be different every day.
