Expecting mothers and families are one of my favorite things to photograph.
The tender time before you welcome your little one into this brand new world is special and always worth documenting. For many of my maternity clients, this is their first baby. I remember those early feelings you have mixed with an endless amount of emotions when you’re able to give birth to your baby.
I feel a deep sense of connection with my maternity clients, and Hannah is a beautiful mama-to-be. We’ve known each other since high school and when she asked me to take these maternity photos for her I was immediately thrilled!
Hannah booked the maternity + year one package, which captures maternity, newborn, 6-month, and 12-month milestones with her little one on the way. So, in a few short weeks, we will be taking newborn photos of their sweet little girl!
We decided to take these golden hour maternity photos at Hannah’s family farm in Browns Summit, NC. The property is made up of sprawling acreage with a small pond, open fields, and old farmhouses.
The maternity dress Hannah chose to wear in these golden hour maternity photos is from Pinkblush Maternity. It was lightweight, comfortable, and brought all the boho vibes to these maternity photos.
Hannah also let me play around with some florals in her maternity photos. I made a trip to Trader Joe’s and scooped up several different types of flowers and made a custom bouquet for her to use. The outcome was more than I hoped for! I’m so glad we took this creative vision and ran with it! The flowers added a feminine touch and made the overall look more unique and special. If you have a vision of what you want your maternity photos to look like, it’s always best to discuss those ideas beforehand to make sure we accomplish all that you’re hoping for in your maternity photos.
During these photos, we had some friendly donkey visitors too! They were friendly and wanted to get in on some of the photos, so we made sure to include them in a few of the photos.
Looking back as a parent to an almost two-year-old now, it’s hard to imagine how time has passed so quickly. The many milestones your children experience are certainly worth capturing. You’ll look back on these photos fondly with your family and smile because they make you feel something…joy.
