We kicked off the first day of spring this past weekend with some spring family photos in Oak Ridge. Spring is one of the best times of year to have new family photos taken. The spring flowers are blooming and the trees are budding.
For these spring family photos my clients wanted to have photos taken close to their home in Oak Ridge. These spring family pictures were taken in a natural area with rows and rows of tall pine trees and an open field in Oak Ridge, North Carolina. The weather was beautiful as we welcomed the new season.
Emma and I went to high school together near Oak Ridge. Every time I go back to Oak Ridge I feel like I’m stepping back in time since it’s where I spent most of my time growing up. This was a special treat to go back to such a beautiful place in Oak Ridge and it brought back a lot of memories from when I lived there growing up.
This family did an exceptional job picking out their outfits for these spring family photos in Oak Ridge. Emma has raved about Rent the Runway and this dress she wore was one from them by Carolina K.
One thing I always recommend to my clients is for the mother to pick out their outfit first, and then pick what everyone else is going to wear. This makes the planning process of picking out what everyone is going to wear much easier. Getting your whole family on board for family photos is no small task – trust me, I know! Rather than having everyone running all over the house an hour before your family photos trying to find something to wear – that isn’t in the wash waiting to be put in the dryer – will save you stress and frustration on the day of your family photos. Planning ahead will take some time but I PROMISE it will all be worth it!
After these outdoor photos, we went back to their home to take some more lifestyle family photos. Since Clara didn’t have newborn photos taken after she was born, this was the perfect opportunity to have some photos taken in her gorgeous nursery. I still cannot get over the green and white hydrangea wallpaper behind her crib! Emma did such a great job decorating and styling Clara’s nursery.
Time really does fly by even faster once you have children. The rate at which they change and grow is insane! Planning for professional family photos takes time and coordinating, but I PROMISE you it is worth it! Take the time to think about family photos, and plan to have them taken at least once every 3 months or so. You’ll look back and be so glad you did!
Spring is in the air and what better time to have some updated family photos taken than this spring?! If you’re looking for a family photographer in the Triad area of North Carolina, I’d love to chat with you! Reach out to me by clicking here.
