In my mind, I’m gone to Carolina…James Taylor said it best! On a beautiful morning in September we took portraits on the UNC Chapel Hill campus with Elizabeth and Jason.
UNC Chapel Hill is near-and-dear to their hearts. Elizabeth graduated with her nursing degree from UNC. She and Jason also started the beginning of their marriage while living in Chapel Hill. Elizabeth and Jason love to visit Chapel Hill on a regular basis, spending nights enjoying a glass of wine at Chapel Hill Wine and watching local bands at Cat’s Cradle.
This year marked the third year in a row that I have worked with Elizabeth and Jason for annual portraits. They make it a priority each fall to have new portraits taken together and every year we have a blast together!
When picking a location for your portraits, we want the venue to speak to you. We want you to feel a connection with the location in some sort of way. The meaningful connection to the location for your portraits will make the pictures even more special when you look back on them. Think about places you enjoy spending time at or have always wanted to visit, but maybe haven’t been before.
Some areas on UNC Chapel Hill campus we gravitated towards were the arboretum and the Old Well. The arboretum was still blooming and full of colorful flowers and trees. There was also a beautiful vine covered trellis that looked like something from a fairytale.
We went at the perfect time before the seasons change, but I do want to go back to visit this spot throughout the year to see how the flora changes from season-to-season. We barely scratched the surface as we walked around the area and I know there are so many more spots that UNC Chapel Hill has to offer.
