What to wear for maternity photos?

You’re expecting! Now comes the fun part before baby arrives – maternity photos! Here are 6 helpful tips for what to wear in your maternity photos.

1) Something you feel comfortable wearing

Being pregnant isn’t the most comfortable thing, so wearing something that is comfortable is highly recommended. A flowy dress is your best bet. Depending on the time of the year, it’s wise to keep in mind how comfortable something is depending on the weather. If your maternity photos are going to take place in the summer, go with something loose fitting and light colored to avoid feeling overheated.

2) Something timeless and effortless

When you look back on your maternity photos you don’t want to shake your head and think, “Why did I choose to wear that?”. When picking out what you’ll wear in your maternity photos make sure it’s something you can envision not going out-of-style. Keep it simple and effortless.

3) Something with a subtle pattern

If you don’t want to wear a solid color, opt for a maternity maxi dress with a subtle pattern. When looking at maternity dresses, you want to make sure the print or pattern isn’t too distracting. You’re the main focus in these maternity photos, not some loud distracting print or pattern.

4) A dress that shows off the bump

After all, you are pregnant and you have an adorable bump to show for it! Choosing a maternity dress that shows it off is most important! You’re only pregnant for nine months, and for some of us, we’re only pregnant once. Make sure you choose to wear a dress that truly shows off that bump!

5) Off the shoulder if you want to show some skin

Just because you’re pregnant, doesn’t mean you can’t show a little skin! A maternity dress that is off-the-shoulder offers a nice touch of elegance and beauty.

6) YOUR FAVORITE COLOR

Nine times out of ten, we feel more confident in photos when we’re wearing something we truly love and feel good in. Wearing a dress in your maternity photos that is your favorite color is a great way to let your personality to show through the photos, and show off your unique style.
